Supplies Needed

Paint Shop Pro - You can get a trial version HERE
Fairy and Wand - You can download the ones I used HERE
A large font - I used Fairy Scroll - You can download it HERE
VM Distortion and VM Natural Filters - You can find them HERE
Alien Skins Eye Candy 3 - You can find it HERE




Fly By Night - Click to Enter


Open a new canvas size 500 x 500 - You can always crop and resize later
Flood fill with white

Set your foreground and background colours to #3A3B6B and #4BACF3

Colours for Name

Set your font tool to Fairy Scroll, size 72, Vector and Antilias checked

Make sure your name is in the middle of your workspace.

On your layer palette open up your vector layer, Right Click on your name

Convert text to curves as character shapes

This will then put all your letters onto their own layer.
You can now resize and rearrange your letters without losing their clarity.

Once you have them set as you want them - Right click on the layer pallette and convert
to Raster Layer - Rename this layer Name

Add a bevel using these settings,

Add a drop shadow using these settings
Hide this layer

Open up your Fairy tube and resize to a size applicable to your letters
Add to your canvas as a new layer - Rename this layer Fairy

Duplicate this layer and name the new layer Fairy 2

Hide your duplicated layer and activate your fairy layer
Drag this layer below your Name layer

Make sure your fairy is in the center of your canvas
Apply the VM Distortion filter - Center Mirror with the default settings TWICE
Lower the opacity on this layer to between 40 - 45

Your canvas should look like this

Move the image so that the bottom points only
are showing below your name

Unhide your name and Fairy 2 layers

Move your fairy to the right hand side of your name
Drag this layer below your name layer.

To make the Fairy look more realistic erase some of the lettering around her hand
Or wherever else she is touching your name


Add a drop shadow using the above settings but change the offset from 3 to 1
Add a perspective shadow using Eye Candy 3 and these settings
